Referral Marketing & FTC Compliance
Transparency dictates that you understand exactly how and why we recommend specific hardware manufacturers or third-party mitigation contractors.
1. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Adherence
Abbott Plumbing & Drain engineers its corporate policies in strict compliance with the Federal Trade Commission's rules regarding endorsements, testimonials, and affiliate marketing. When we evaluate your property and propose a localized solution in Tooele or the Salt Lake Valley, we want you to have absolute confidence that our mechanical recommendations are based on technical superiority, not hidden financial incentives.
2. Hardware Manufacturer Relationships
When our licensed technicians install a specific brand of tankless water heater, ion-exchange filtration system, or high-pressure sewer lateral, we frequently utilize distinct product lines (e.g., Bradford White, Navien, Uponor).
Disclosure: Abbott Plumbing & Drain maintains wholesale purchasing agreements with localized supply houses and national manufacturers. We occasionally receive volume-based discounts from these suppliers based on our high installation frequency. However, we do not receive direct "bounties" or commission checks from a manufacturer simply for convincing a homeowner to purchase their specific brand over a competitor's. We recommend hardware solely based on its thermodynamic efficiency, metallurgical durability within Utah's hard water aquifers, and the robustness of the manufacturer's warranty.
3. Third-Party Referral Networks
A serious structural plumbing failure frequently causes immense collateral damage to the surrounding drywall, flooring, and electrical systems. While Abbott Plumbing & Drain specializes exclusively in stopping the immediate water crisis and repairing the physical pipe, we do not perform general carpentry, dry-out mitigation, or mold remediation.
When our dispatchers or field technicians recommend a third-party architectural restoration firm or water-damage mitigation company to rebuild your property post-leak, please be advised:
- No Financial Kickbacks: Abbott Plumbing & Drain does not accept sub-rosa "finder's fees" or financial kickbacks from restoration companies for routing our distressed clients to them.
- Reputational Recommendations Only: We recommend these external contractors exclusively because we have witnessed their craftsmanship on previous job sites and trust them to execute high-quality restoration without engaging in predatory pricing against the homeowner.
4. Lead Generation Affiliates
Certain digital properties or localized directories may route web traffic or incoming phone calls to Abbott Plumbing & Drain. In some instances, we compensate these digital marketing partners on a flat-rate or per-lead basis for generating visibility. However, this marketing expenditure is absorbed by our corporate overhead; it is never passed down to the consumer as a hidden line-item on a localized flat-rate service proposal.
5. Zero Bias Guarantee
Our mandate is diagnostic accuracy. If a sewer lateral requires massive external excavation, we will propose the excavation. If the lateral can be saved via cost-effective trenchless epoxy lining, we will propose the lining. Our engineering proposals are dictated entirely by the physics of the failure and local municipal building codes, never by external affiliate pressures.
